Witham MP Priti Patel recently paid a visit to a newly renovated farm shop and garden center to show her support for the local business.
Tom’s Farm Shop and Garden Center on Maldon Road, near Tiptree, Essex, has recently undergone a major £500,000 refurbishment to offer its customers a wider choice of stock.
Priti was joined by owner Tom Gregan and his wife Nikki at the formal ribbon cutting ceremony before a plaque commemorating the occasion was unveiled.
The MP was then given a tour of the newly designed facilities, which include an impressive 240 square meter air-conditioned building that will house the company’s expanded retail space.
Tom’s will offer an even greater selection of groceries, household gifts, DIY tools, sheds and fencing and is proud to host a newly opened ice cream parlor in its on-site Forget Me Not Tearooms.
Priti said: “Tom’s Farm Shop and Garden Center is a well known local landmark and I am delighted to have been here to help launch the new updated facilities.
“I’m always happy when companies in my constituency thrive and are able to expand their operations and improve their customer appeal.
“The new building looks fantastic and should be very popular locally.”
Tom Gregan, the owner of Tom’s Farm Shop and Garden Center said: “It was great to have Priti here for the opening. She made our opening day even more special and I am grateful to her for taking the time to be with us today despite her busy schedule.
“I would also like to thank Maldon County Council, our local councils, our employees and our customers for supporting the expansion and business over the many years.”
