Larry Wayne Searcy – Daily Journal


Larry Wayne Searcy, 68, died August 5, 2022. He was a graduate of Whiteland Community High School and attended Purdue University. He was married to Tammara Lee Searcy for 32 years. He is survived by his two children, Matthew (Tammy) Ryan Searcy and Emily (David) Grace Flynn, grandson Elias Wayne Flynn and brother Keith (Jacque) Alan Searcy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Lyman Searcy and Frances Evelyn Searcy (Graves).

Larry demonstrated his craftsmanship by building his own home in Clark Township and restoring wrecked cars as a coachbuilder at the Searcy Auto Body Shop in Greenwood, Indiana.

He enjoyed many hobbies and sports in his life. He played basketball and soccer in high school. He continued to play basketball in the adult male leagues into his late 30’s. He enjoyed hunting, particularly pheasant hunting with his springer spaniel companion. He also enjoyed fishing, gardening, golf and billiards.

Known for his deep voice, he was happy to sing a song to anyone who would listen. He believed in Christ and is certainly singing with the angels now.

A private service will be held for immediate family members.
